Background

International Organization for Migration (IOM), mission to the Republic of Moldova is seeking an International Consultant to conduct half-day training session on “Models and best international practices of Diaspora Engagement” for the Diaspora Days-dedicated Workshop on “Diaspora Engagement”

Purpose: The IOM will commission an International Consultant, who will conduct half-day training session on “Models and best international practices of Diaspora Engagement” for the Diaspora Days-dedicated Workshop on “Diaspora Engagement”

Assignments: TOR      

a) Education:

  • Post-graduate degree in a development-related field;
  • Complementary studies in international development will be an advantage;
  • Other formal education relevant for the assignment;

 b) Experience:

  • A minimum of 10-year work experience in the Migration & Development sector, preferably in diaspora engagement programmes;
  • A minimum of 7-year experience in conducting diaspora-centric thematic trainings;
  • Substantive experience in Migration and Development policy issues;
  • Proven experience in developing analytical studies in the area of migration or other relevant areas;
  • Experience in working with international organizations and IOM and/or UN agencies in particular;

 c) Competencies, skills and other requirements:

  • Ability to work with data and triangulate various types of information;
  • Excellent oral and written command of English.
  • Availability for the envisaged period and high mobility and flexibility.
  • Personal commitment, efficiency and results-orientation;
  • Strong analytical, writing, and communication skills;
  • Computer literacy and ability to effectively use the office technology equipment and IT tools;
  • Skills to manage efficiently a number of tasks in time constraints;
  • Ability to deliver final products on time and within the proposed budget;
  • Proven integrity by respecting UN ethical values and standards.
  • Familiarity with IOM’s mandate;

 d) Diversity:
