Background

United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA) announces the vacancy of

National Consultant on mainstreaming ageing in policies

 

Job Purpose: The expected output from the National Consultant is a specific, measurable and budgeted Action Plan on mainstreaming ageing in policies. The Consultant’s output will be based on the current Objectives of the Road Map on ageing and will be elaborated in close coordination with Ministry of Labor, Social Protection and Family, National Commission for Population and Development and United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA).   

 

Objectives:

In order to achieve the expected Output, were set the following Objectives:

  1. Analyze national and international practices in mainstreaming ageing in sectorial policies and finding the mechanism on how it can be implemented in the Republic of Moldova.
  2. Consult relevant stakeholders working in the field of population dynamics and ageing, including national and local public institutions, NGOs, academia and international organizations.
  3. Develop a specific, measurable, achievable and budgeted Action Plan on mainstreaming ageing in policies, based on the template agreed initially with Ministry of Labor, Social Protection and Family and UNFPA.  

Job requirements:

  • At least Master degree in Demography, Sociology, Social Work, Development Studies, Public Policy or a related field.  
  • At least 5 years of professional experience in demography and / or in developing social public policies, especially related to population and ageing.
  • Experience in developing public policies on demography, migration, ageing, economy or other field related to population.
  • At least 3 years of experience in working with public institution in elaboration of public policies. Previous experience with Ministry of Labor, Social Protection and Family and / or National Commission on Population and Development will be an asset.
  • Fluency in Romanian and Russian languages. Knowledge of English at working level.
  • Excellent analytical and drafting skills.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with stakeholders and to summarize recommendations.
  • Demonstrated interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in use of current office software applications, including internet navigation is required.
