Background

National Consultant to Conduct Country Assessment

of Peer Education Standards Implementation in the Republic of Moldova


Background:

UNFPA EECARO is initiating a review of the peer education standards implementation in EECA region. This work will contribute to a better understanding of the peer education coverage and standardization in the region and will inform future support to countries and programming within the regional programme. Once the national situation analysis is finalized, the results will feed into a regional overview that will include recommendations for future steps.

Objective:

To implement the activities leading to the outputs and specific objective at country level, the national consultant will work closely with the UNFPA Country office appointed staff and with the Team Leader (International Consultant) to prepare, finalize and submit the country assessment report.

The national consultant will be part of a larger team of national consultants from other countries and the Team leader (International Consultant).

The main output will be:

  • Conducting of country assessment;
  • Preparation and finalization of the country assessment report.

Deliverables of the Consultancy:

(1)  collecting relevant country information;

(2)  scheduling interviews for the assessment work,

(3)  conducting assessment with the assistance and guidance of the international consultant; and

(4)  preparing and finalizing the country based assessment report as per the outline developed and communicated by the Team Leader.

 

Required qualifications and experience:

Education:

  • Completed university degree in social sciences, international development, public health, management or related disciplines.

 

Experience:

  • At least 5 years of relevant work experience in the field of international cooperation, public health, and primary expertise working on SRH of young people, including non-formal education and peer education;
  • Experience in working as member of multinational teams.
  • Experience in writing reports/papers in English;
  • Good experience in generating summaries, analysis and assessment reports;
  • Proven ability to undertake professional research and assessments;
  • Very good communication and presentation skills;
  • Prior experience working for international organizations in/on the EECA countries.

 

Language Requirements:

  • Excellent command of English and Romanian is required;
  • Knowledge of other languages spoken in the region is preferable.

 

Other:

  • Excellent computer skills (especially MS Office applications) and ability to use information technology as a tool and resource.
