Background

 

UNICEF Moldova is seeking a national Specialist in the Area of Communication to provide support in promoting child rights and strengthening communication for behaviour and social change

Duration: February 2015 – January 2017 (two years)

Objectives:

The specialist in communication will:

  • Provide assistance to UNICEF in development, implementation and evaluation of behaviour change and social change initiatives, activities to address harmful social norms.
  • Identify and present good regional and global practices and resources on behaviour and social change on UNICEF programming issues.
  • Support UNICEF in documenting good practices at national level in addressing social norms and changing behaviours in key areas of interest UNICEF.

Qualifications and experience:

  • University degree in communication, social sciences or other relevant studies.
  • Relevant experience in the area of communication, social change communication, communication for behaviour change.
  • Experience in developing communication strategies focused on behaviour and social norms changes.
  • Experience in developing communication tools/materials.
  • Flexibility in responding to office needs.
  • Availability to work with UNICEF during the period indicated in the current ToR.
  • Experience in working with UNICEF or other UN Agencies will be an asset.
  • Good knowledge of English and good writing skills.
  • Excellent command of Romanian.
  • Working knowledge of Russian is an asset.
