Job Purpose: The present consultancy aims to identify specific potential private sector partners for key “product lines” under the current UNFPA Country Programme. The consultant will set up a database with concrete areas of cooperation, procedures for submitting a project proposal and working mechanisms for involvement of private sector partners in the achievement of the UNFPA’s concrete priorities on sexual and reproductive health and reproductive rights, adolescents and youth, population and development, ageing, gender equality and human rights.

Objectives:

In order to achieve the expected Output, were set the following Objectives:

  1. Fine-tune the respective product lines (on sexual and reproductive health and reproductive rights, adolescents and youth, population and development, ageing, gender equality and human rights) for UNFPA Country Programme 2013 - 2017 from a private sector perspective.
  2. Mapping the potential private sector partners in the Republic of Moldova, as part of their involvement in the Global Compact Network in Moldova and to identify linkages with UNFPA priorities, according to the Country Programme 2013 – 2017.
  3. Developing a detailed matrix with level of interest and potential financial and other collaboration for specific product lines   with private sector representatives.
  4. Development and submission for funding of at least one project proposal, based on the developed matrix.

 Job requirements:

  • University degree in Economy, Public Finance, public policy, social policy, sociology international development and/or other related science
  • At least three years of experience in working with the private sector/CSR.
  • Proven experience in working with private sector and UN, bi-lateral, international donors/agencies and/or nongovernmental organizations. Successful experience working with UNFPA will be a very strong advantage.
  • Familiarity with UNFPA programmes and policies, knowledge of international development policies and institutions, international politics an advantage.
  • Excellent analytical and drafting skills.
  • Fluency in English and Romanian are required. Knowledge of Russian is an advantage.
  • Proficiency in use of current office software applications (MS Word, Excel etc.), including internet navigation is required.
  • Working knowledge of one or more additional languages relevant for Moldova, including Bulgarian, Gagauz, Romani or Ukrainian would be an asset.
