UNICEF Moldova is looking for a company to support conducting of a regional study on parenting programmes for parents of adolescents.

  1. Build the evidence base on how parenting is understood and practiced by parents/caregivers of adolescent boys and girls (including the most vulnerable) in the Republic of Moldova, and the extent to which this knowledge is translated into every day parenting practice;
  2. Look at how individual, interpersonal, institutional, and structural factors (at the social, economic and cultural levels) in the Republic of Moldova affect parenting dynamics and influence parenting practices (including differences in maternal and paternal parenting styles; the sharing of parental roles and obligations for boys and girls; intergenerational communication; parental knowledge/ attitudes/ practices with regards to discipline methods; parental engagement with education, the role of parents with regards to sexual and reproductive health education; the role of parents in the prevention of risky behavior; the engagement of parents with adolescents’ psychosocial wellbeing and general health etc.). Particular attention will be paid to the parents of vulnerable adolescents, such as those with disabilities or chronic illness, minority groups, adolescents living in rural areas, adolescents living in institutions, adolescents in conflict with the law, etc.
  3. Undertake a rights-based, gender-responsive, equity-focused mapping and light qualitative assessment of selected parenting practices for parents of adolescents in the Republic of Moldova (across the health, education, social and child protection sectors), and assess if these practices address the real needs of parents/caregivers of adolescents, previously identified through focus group discussions with parents/ caregivers and adolescents.
